Taiwan Golf Courses
From Taipei, most of Taiwan’s best golf is a short drive away: the hills of Hsinchu and Taoyuan and the coast north of the city. These are the courses IGST plays most often, each with its own character.
Our featured courses. Facts come from the Taiwan Tourism Administration golf directory and the clubs themselves. Photos supplied by IGST.

Gentle hillside course on the Taoyuan–Hsinchu border, fairways refined by Gordon Lewis. Wide fairways and forgiving greens; on clear days you can see the Taiwan Strait. Audubon International certified in 2015, the first eco-certified course in northern Taiwan.
50 Nan Wo, Chang An Village, Woo Kou, Hsinchu /

Opened in 1997 in a quiet wooded valley. Rolling fairways, layered bunkers and ponds, and shifting winds make it a real test. The clubhouse is a Spanish-style bell tower building.

Opened in 1992 on clifftops above the sea, often called the course closest to the ocean in Taiwan. You can see the water from almost every hole, and the fairways have big elevation changes.

Designed by Shunsuke Kato on more than 120 ha, with over 200,000 trees planted. Its signature 8th hole plays over the “Red Bridge” across a valley. Hosts professional, amateur and junior events.

Taiwan’s only remaining Gary Player design. The course sits on open, seaward-sloping land with few trees, like a European seaside course, so the sea wind decides most rounds. The front nine is exposed to the wind, and the back nine has lots of water.

J. Michael Poellot design from 1995 on about 103 ha of hill country, around 300 m above sea level. The greens are heavily contoured. The 9th and 18th share Crescent Lake and a marble waterfall, and the clubhouse has a hot-spring spa.
1 Lin, Yu Sun, Kuan Hsi, Hsinchu / 306

J.M. Poellot design that opened at the end of 2003, run in the Japanese style. The terrain is flat, so lakes and ponds are the main hazards, with views of the Shimen hills. It is about 5 minutes from the Longtan exit on Freeway 3.
